The 2nd location of the successful Charleston restaurant, Basil Thai Cuisine, was opened in Charlotte, North Carolina in Spring 2009. This was a first tenant upfit in a new high-rise building on a corner of the downtown commercial district in Charlotte. The restaurant is 3200 square feet with a seating capacity of 108 and an additional sidewalk dining area, and features a vibrant bar area with wraparound high banquettes and a custom-designed backbar wall display. The highlight of the dining room is a large open glass cooking line, a feature which is carried through from the original downtown Basil. Large expanses of storefront glass allow for good natural lighting in this space. Wood flooring, exposed concrete columns and glass details blend to create an upscale urban aesthetic feel to the restaurant.
